Greggs – Prepare for Zombies

To create a digital film to increase brand awareness for Gregg’s in the run up to Halloween. The film was to tie into a further campaign introducing a range of Halloween products. The goal was to attract 100,000 views in the 3 weeks in the lead up to Halloween.
Irresistible opted for a street prank approach, capturing genuine public reactions to a small group of London workers; turned zombie, the action led to a climactic invasion of the Earl’s Court Greggs branch.
We decided to use a real member of staff from Greggs to show a convincing role of an employee reacting to the zombies. We merely warned them that at some point during the day, zombies would invade and they should chase them away with a broom. A store worker, Jennie, was a complete natural with her dialogue, being entirely improvised.
The client was thrilled with the final film, achieved within the tight budget and time restraints.
The video attracted 160,000 views in 3 weeks instantly becoming the most popular YouTube video for Greggs and instigated many positive conversations.
